Let’s go for a Hike!

Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation is excited to offer our fall guided hike series! Join a naturalist guided hike as we get out and enjoy the fall colors. 

Guided hike down ‘History Trail’ on Teton Pass – Friday, September 21st  8:30am – 12:00pm

Join Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation on a guided hike down the History Trail on Teton Pass! Experience the landscape and colorful stories of the people who traveled the Old Wagon Road beginning in the 1880s, and later, the Old Pass Road built in 1913. Total hiking distance is about 3.5 miles and begins at the summit of Teton Pass and descends nearly 2,000ft to the Trail Cr Trailhead. Bring water, snacks and appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather. We will provide transportation from the Recreation Center to the trail head along with a knowledgeable trail guide. Participants are expected to remain with the group for the duration of the hike. This is an all ages hike and not strenuous but people with knee or back problems may find it taxing. Children under 12 are free with a parent/guardian (limit two non-paying children per adult) all others $10.
Please enroll all children under 12 (no fees will apply) so we have an accurate head count.
8:30 am - 12:00 pm; start and finish at Rec Center Lobby
2-4 miles hiking, non-strenuous pace
Please meet at the Recreation Center lobby 10 minutes early 

 

Guided Hike at Munger Mountain – Friday, September 28th 8:30am – 12:00pm

Join Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation for a guided hike on Munger Mountain. Experience the landscape, enliven your senses and enjoy the fall colors. Munger Mountain is located about 10 miles south of Wilson, Wyoming and offers beautiful views in a quiet setting. Bring water, snacks and appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather. We will provide transportation from the Recreation Center to the trail head along with a knowledgeable trail guide. Participants are expected to remain with the group for the duration of the hike. This is an all ages hike and not strenuous, hiking distance is 2 - 4 miles.

Guided Hike at Game Greek – Friday, October 5th 8:30am – 12:00pm

Join Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation for a guided hike at Game Creek. Experience the landscape, enliven your senses and enjoy the fall colors. Game Creek is located about 7 miles south of Jackson and offers great views and opportunities to see wildlife. Bring water, snacks and appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather. We will provide transportation from the Recreation Center to the trail head along with a knowledgeable trail guide. Participants are expected to remain with the group for the duration of the hike. This is an all ages hike and not strenuous, hiking distance is 2 - 4 miles.

This guided hike is specifically for people age 60+. Join Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation and the Senior Center of Jackson Hole on a guided hike down the History Trail on Teton Pass followed by lunch (optional) at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole for just $4.
