NOVEMBER: Safe Holidays

The holidays are a time for gathering with friends and family around the fireplace, sharing meals, and decorating homes. Make sure the memories you create are good ones by following these safety tips.

Take Action

  • Get your chimney cleaned regularly.
  • Use candles with extreme caution, or better yet switch to electronic candles.
  • Home cooking fires are common over the holidays. Be especially careful with fryers.
  • Install smoke alarms in every sleeping room and on every level of the home.
  • Heavy snow can damage gas lines and vents. Be sure to dig them out.

Tip
