Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling Tip Fee Changes Implemented
Changes to disposal costs for municipal solid waste, yard waste, manure, food waste, construction and demolition waste, concrete, dimensional lumber, tires, refrigerator units, and mattresses began May 17, 2023. On May 16, the Teton County Board of County Commissioners approved increases to certain solid waste and recycling fees as recommended by the Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling (ISWR) Advisory Board. These increases are reflective of careful analysis. As with previous adjustments, the current increase is intended to directly address the costs associated with each material accepted and to ensure efficient and environmentally sound management.

ISWR is pleased to continue offering composting and reuse services for yard waste, weeds/grass, and dimensional lumber. This program diverts over 9000 tons per year from the landfill, recovering valuable organic resources and minimizing the environmental impact of transporting and burying these materials.
A $10.00 minimum fee per visit is still in effect at the Trash Transfer Station. This policy is intended to encourage customers to consolidate material loads, to increase efficiency and minimize traffic delays at the facility.
The fee increase will impact household hazardous waste disposal, and electronic waste recycling fees. The cost to properly dispose of hazardous materials and electronic waste has increased over the last decade, requiring an increase in the fee structure. This is the first increase for electronic waste disposal in over five years.
Electronic and hazardous waste is banned from the trash. Businesses are asked to pay the full cost, and residents are asked to pay what they are able to afford.
Proposed increases to Commercial Corrugated Cardboard Service are also included, while Commercial Food Waste Compost hauling services will remain the same.
