The Lodging tax provides funding to the Parks & Recreation annual budget.
In FY 2017, the Town of Jackson and Teton County added approximately $740,000 to the Parks & Recreation budget using Lodging tax revenues. These funds were used for maintenance activities at parks including trash removal, restroom cleaning, general maintenance, and to cover some design costs for the new Parks & Recreation Maintenance facility. These services benefit visitors and residents alike. The use of Lodging Tax funds for these activities and projects reduces the amount of other local government general revenue required for these services.
