Jackson, Wyo., Dec. 2, 2016 – The Housing Department welcomed a new position to its team this week: Compliance Specialist. Lisa Potzernitz, who has worked at the Housing Department for two years, will shift into the new role, where she will work with restricted housing unit owners to ensure compliance standards are met.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Lisa to her new position as the Compliance Specialist. She has the skills to navigate the compliance role, and we look forward to enhancing our services to ensure 100 percent compliance in our units, thus protecting the public’s investment in affordable housing in our community,” April Norton, Housing Director said.

Potzernitz is a Jackson native and volunteer firefighter. She is currently the president of the Hoback Volunteer Firefighters Association and most recently served as the Housing Department’s administrative assistant. In that role she assisted the Housing Manger and Sales Specialist with a diversity of tasks including compliance, sales and resales, and customer service.

Among her many certifications, she has completed the Fire/Arson Investigator Academy, Reading Body Language course, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Fair Housing Training. In addition to her positions at the Housing Department and the Hoback Fire Department, Potzernitz maintains a family ranch in Hog Island.

The Compliance Specialist position was created via a departmental restructuring and in close partnership with the Town and County planning departments to enhance efficiencies. The result was the addition of the Compliance Specialist position without any net gain in the overall number of employees in the department.
