2008 Elections - Important Dates

May 15 – 30Filing period for filing application for nomination for election. File with County Clerk.

June 12Last day for State to certify the list of Primary Election candidates to County Clerk.

June 30Last day for County clerk to appoint Election Judges.

July 10County Clerk receives Primary Election ballots.

July 14Absentee ballot precinct opens at 200 So. Willow, Jackson, WY.

July 21Voter registration closes for regular voters. Unregistered voters, wishing to cast an absentee ballot, may register and vote the same day, July 22 through August 18.

Aug. 6-25Filing period for school board, hospital board, conservation board and independent candidates. File with County Clerk.

Aug. 12Candidates Campaign Committee Receipts Reports due.

Aug. 19Primary Election Day – Voter registration re-opens at polling sites. Polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Aug. 27Last day to request a county re-count.

Aug. 29Last day to file Candidates Campaign Statement of Receipts and Expenditures.

Sept. 4Last day for State to certify the list of general election candidates and amendments to County Clerks.

Sept. 25County Clerk receives General Election ballots.

Sept. 29Absentee ballot precinct opens at 200 So. Willow, Jackson, WY.

Oct. 6Voter registration closes for regular voters. Unregistered voters, wishing to cast an absentee ballot, may register and vote the same day, September 29 through November 3.

Oct. 28Candidates Campaign Committee Receipts Reports due.

Nov. 4General Election Day – Voter registration re-opens at polling sites. Polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Nov. 7Last day to request a county recount.

Nov. 14Last day to file Candidates Campaign Statement of Receipts and Expenditures..

Dec. 1School Board members take office at noon.

Jan. 5, 2009Elected Officials assume duties.
