July 10, 2017, Jackson, WY – In an effort to mitigate the impact of roads on wildlife, Teton County has contracted with Western Transportation Institute to prepare a Wildlife Crossings Master Plan. The master plan will set priorities for road crossings in specific locations, define the measures that will be most effective, identify potential sources of funding, and propose methods for monitoring crossings in the future to assess their success.

A public meeting to give an update on the current status of the master plan and accept public comment is scheduled for Wednesday, July 19th 4-7 pm at the Teton County Library Auditorium. Exhibits detailing the research areas along with some of the potential crossing mitigation measures will be provided along with an opportunity to provide comments. There will be a brief presentation by Western Transportation Institute at 5:30 pm. For further information contact Amy Ramage, Teton County Engineering Manager at 732-8574.
