 “Understanding of Conflict”

We will look at the Core of Conflict, the Conflict Spiral and the Conflict Triangle.

From a mediator’s point of view, many disputes seem irrational or trivial.  The conflict core shows the sense of threat that pulses at the core of most conflict.  As conflict intensifies all kinds of consequences spiral outward and the conflict triangle gives mediators a basic framework for assessing how the conflict has spiraled.
