Several years ago, the TCHA Board included, as part of their strategic plan, purchasing land for future affordable workforce housing. They were able to first secure the Karns property, which was later traded for The Grove Property, Next, TCHA purchased the Mantey property. the Rains Property, and a commercial building located at 260 W. Broadway. The Mantey property was later sold and the proceeds were used towards a collaboration with the Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust called Redmond Hall, which will consist of 28 rental units.
The Jackson Town Council and the Teton County Board of Commissioners have listed the 260 W. Broadway property for sale. They are also considering what to do with the Rains property.
