JACKSON, Wyo. – May 11, 2017 – A ½-mile portion of the North Pathway will be closed for five days starting Monday, May 15th to allow the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WYDEQ) to perform work on WYDEQ monitoring wells. The closure was originally scheduled for the week of May 8-12, but has subsequently been rescheduled by the contractor. Brian Schilling, Pathways Coordinator for Teton County, stated, “The contractor neglected to notify the County that the construction had been rescheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience to the public.”

The closure will start directly across from the Elk Refuge Inn, one mile north of the pathway start in the Town of Jackson, and will extend approximately ½ mile to the WYDOT pullout area between the Flat Creek Inn and the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Cyclists and pedestrians will be re-routed onto the highway shoulder through the closure area. The contractor performing the work has been requested to provide signage to direct pathway traffic through the closure area and to place cones on the highway shoulder to separate pathway users from motor vehicles on the highway. The closure is expected to run from Monday, May 15th through Saturday, May 20th.
