On Thursday, August 23rd crews from Evans Construction will be conducting Fog Sealing operations on the newly chip-sealed road.  Fog sealing requires the restriction of all traffic for a period of time while the material hardens, requiring segments of Fish Creek Road to be closed throughout the day.  Generally, a single lane of traffic will remain open – however, in the narrower sections, the entire road will be closed.

Fish Creek Road Schedule for Thursday, August 23rd.

8:00a.m.                             Crews arrive on Fish Creek Road

9:00a.m.-12:00 noon       Restricted travel and/or closure from Wilson to Hunt Bridge (approximately 2 ½ miles up Fish Creek Road)

11:00a.m.-2:00p.m.         Closed from Hunt Bridge to Vandewaters (approximately 1 ¼ mile up Fish Creek Road)

1:00p.m.-4:00p.m.           Restricted travel and/or closure from Vandewaters to end of Fish Creek Road (approximately 1 ¼ miles)

The sealant will be applied by lane, limiting traffic to single lanes.  A pilot car will manage movement of traffic.  Residents whose properties are accessed via the closed lane will be unable to enter or leave their properties during the lane closure.  Once the lane reopens, residents will be able to enter or exit their property.  Depending on weather and road conditions, closures will be kept to a minimum and the road will be re-opened as quickly as possible.

All Teton County Emergency Services are aware of the road closures.

The use of Fog Sealing is a new road maintenance approach in Teton County that has proven effective in neighboring communities by extending the pavement longevity, reducing maintenance, and providing a smoother traveling surface for all users.  We apologize for the inconvenience but anticipate successful results.

Please contact us with any questions or concerns about these closures or the use of Fog Seal.
