Motor Vehicle Registration Timeframe
Annual Registration Required:
Annual registration is required for all motor vehicles. Annual registration is for twelve months from date of purchase or acquisition; or the month in which the vehicle was brought into Wyoming on a permanent basis.
Temporary Registration:
A nonresident owner of a vehicle, or any owner upon transfer of ownership or lease, may as an alternative to annual registration, obtain not more than one (1) temporary registration in a twelve (12) month period. The temporary registration authorizes operation of the vehicle on the highways of this state for a period of 30, 60 or ninety days.
Temporary Worker Decal:
A temporary worker displaying a valid registration or license plate from another state employed in Wyoming for ninety (90) days or less may choose to purchase a decal from the county treasurer in lieu of registering the vehicle. No person shall be issued more than one (1) decal in a twelve (12) month period. The fee for a temporary decal shall be thirty-five dollars ($35.00) for ninety (90) days.
In cooperation with Teton County Government, Official Payments Corporation offers individuals and businesses the opportunity to pay taxes or fees by telephone or directly over the Internet.
Mission Statement
The Treasurer is charged with statutory obligations which include: the collection of taxes and fees, motor vehicle registrations, distributing the same to taxing entities according to imposed mill levies, etc; managing the investment portfolio pursuant to investment policies approved by the Board of County Commissioners; and of managing the office to serve the citizens and taxpayers of Teton County, Wyoming.
